Evolution;

reasontoexhale:

You don’t believe in it?
Ignorance must be sweet bliss.

There’s so much evidence for the existence of evolution that if you simply choose to not even try to understand it, then you’re being ignorant and stupid. Sorry. I shouldn’t be insulting people but I honestly can’t comprehend how people DON’T get it.

So, i’m going to put it in simple terms for you guys - exciting! The one thing that most people don’t accept about evolution is that “it’s not happening today, I dont see humans evolving today, why aren’t those monkeys evolving into humans?” as if one day Bobo The Chimp is gonna turn into Bob The Store Manager.

Okay, i’ll just briefly explain 3 concepts and arguments.

  • evolution happens when it is necessary for survival.
  • evolution is about the change of all traits
  • evolution happens in groups - NOT to all of the population

I’ll just cover those 3.

Okay so why aren’t apes evolving now? They don’t need to. They are not endangered, the numbers that get killed in the wild are relatively low compared to other animals. They don’t get hunted, they don’t need to evolve. Point blank period.

Second point. Okay so why aren’t humans evolving now? Oh but we are. A lot of people who don’t believe evolution are very religious so i’ll bring religion into it. The early scriptures in the Bible suggest to humans being very short - 3/4 feet tall. So how is the average height now 5’7? Is that not evolution? Have our genes not mutated to form a much taller species? Okay how does evolution explain race? Simple. When you have a black man, and a white woman who have a baby, what do you get? A mixed race baby. Yayyyyyy. Lets take it back though, how did we get a difference between a black man and a white woman in the first place?

Humans evolved from apes in Africa. The first human beings were African, they were black. Also the earth wasn’t as it is now - there was land called Pangaea where all of the continents lined up

and over time got separated to form Europe, The Americas and Africa - but again this was over a large amount of years you’re talking hundreds of millions of years. And yes the continents are still moving today, I think you’ll find that Europe is gravitating towards America at a speed of about 2cm per year. Anyway, if you were on the “south america” section you’re going to experience different climates than those on the “eurasia” section, which brings me to the Caucaus Mountains, found on Eurasia. Where early human beings had to cope with harsh and cold environments (It was basically Russia), so how did people become white? Well genetic breeding in isolation comes into play. This method of breeding means that rare traits in their genes have a far greater chance of showing up. If you’re familiar with genetics you’ll know that our DNA is coded by a lottery if you will, for example the possibility that my kids will have brown eyes is very high but there’s still a very small chance for them to get blue ones. If you are interbreeding within a small human gene pool that small chance becomes much more frequent. So traits such as skin colour, hair colour, eye colour etc become much more prevalent. And as society breeds more and more, the genetic diversity becomes greater thus creating a wide selection of characteristics. It is argued that white people are the most diverse race because a lot less humans migrated towards Eurasia, and that black people are much less diverse because we stayed in Africa and had a lot more people to breed with, thus genetic traits didn’t really differ much.

Anyway, third point. Evolution happens in groups. Evolution DOESN’T have to affect every single member of that organisms population. Which I think is why a lot of people have a hard time accepting evolution, because they believe that it’s meant to happen to all the animals/mammals. NOPE. Not true. Look at your cat/dog. Look at your neighbours cat/dog. Do they look the same?  Just because we evolved from apes doesn’t mean that every monkey has to evolve into a human. That’s stupid.

Anyway, obviously this post doesn’t cover evolution as a whole, but I hope I made it easier for those who have a hard time accepting evolution, to see why it is the most logical theory. Yes it’s not perfect, and there are some holes in it. But there is EVIDENCE for it, much more so than Religion points out.

I really wish;

reasontoexhale:

Drake hadn’t signed with Young Money.

Dont get me wrong, I do quite like lil’ wayne occasionally.

But Young Money is a group of amateurs, and Drake is capable of being in a completely different class to them. He doesn’t NEED to be mentored by lil’ wayne, wtf? When you have the backing of the majority of rappers in the game you dont need a mentor.

Get outta here with that.

  • Drake sounded better on tracks with elZhi & Phonte.
  • He sounded better when he didn’t sing so much.
  • Why does he only ever sound deep on beats that sound like “Lust For Life” and “November 18th”?
  • He’s always rapped about material things, it’s just that he used to be good at it
  • I get really pissed off when he collabs with rappers like Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane and Rick Ross - I mean WTF Drake? Who told you this would be a good idea? You’re a completely different type of rapper.
  • You’re ruining songs with your stupid collabo’s “Unforgettable” is a perfect example of this
  • I miss the passion he had.
  • I also wish he didn’t sing as much as he does, it kinda loses the novelty when he starts singing on every song.

I had more but i’m done for now

Do not listen to what people tell you, They do not know you as much as you know yourself. Even if it’s your own flesh and blood

Thoughts #9

beforeiselfdestruct:

If at large gatherings or parties, or around people with whom you feel distant, your hands sometimes hang awkwardly at the ends of your arms—if you find yourself at a loss for what to do with them, overcome with sadness that comes when you recognize the foreignness of your own body—

it’s because your hands remember a time when the division between mind and body, brain and heart, what’s inside and what’s outside, was so much less. It’s not that we’ve forgotten the language of gestures entirely.

The habit of moving our hands while we speak is left over from it. Clapping, pointing, giving the thumbs-up: all artifacts of ancient gestures.

Holding hands, for example, is a way to remember how it feels to say nothing together.

And at night, when it’s too dark to see, we find it necessary to gesture on each other’s bodies to make ourselves understood.

I never knew what to do with my hands

“All white people are conditioned to be racist”

deeperthanwords:

- Jane Elliot

I agree.

I really do agree.

Maybe not racist, but superior.

And this is why, racism will never be solved.

I believe this too.

The show didn’t work as well as it should have done.

But in its failure, it highlighted the ignorance and disbelief that white people have on the idea of racism.
